Gentle, well-absorbed magnesium to support muscles, nerves and everyday energy.
Helps to:
- Support normal muscle and nervous system function.
- Reduce tiredness and fatigue.
- Maintain normal bones and teeth.
Key ingredient: Magnesium Glycinate (USP) 500 mg | Pack size: 30 Tablets
Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to glycine, an amino acid. That pairing is the reason people choose it over cheaper forms: it is well absorbed and it is the gentlest of the common forms on the stomach, which matters when you are taking something every day rather than occasionally.
We have been formulating and filling supplements at our own facility on Adiyala Road, Rawalpindi since 1998. This is one of more than 150 DRAP-enlisted products we make there, and the enlistment number, batch number and expiry date are printed on every pack.
What magnesium contributes to
These are the established claims, and they are the only ones we will make:
- Normal muscle function
- Normal functioning of the nervous system
- The reduction of tiredness and fatigue
- Normal psychological function
- The maintenance of normal bones and teeth
- Normal energy-yielding metabolism and normal protein synthesis
- Electrolyte balance
What magnesium is not is a sedative. Many people describe feeling more settled once their intake improves, but it does not work like a sleeping tablet, and persistent insomnia deserves a proper look rather than a supplement.
Each tablet contains
Magnesium glycinate (USP) — 500 mg.
One thing worth understanding when you compare magnesium products: "500 mg" is the weight of the compound, not the weight of the magnesium inside it. The amount of actual magnesium, called elemental magnesium, is a fraction of that, and the fraction differs by form. Compare like with like before deciding anything is better value.
How to take it
- Take with food to reduce any chance of stomach upset.
- Many people prefer the evening, simply because that is when muscle comfort and winding down matter most. Morning is equally fine.
- Space it a couple of hours apart from iron or zinc supplements, and from certain antibiotics, as minerals compete for absorption.
- Loose stools are the usual sign of too much, or of the wrong form.
Food first
Magnesium is in pumpkin and sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, chickpeas, lentils, spinach, whole grains and dark chocolate. A diet built largely on refined flour tends to fall short. A supplement makes more sense as a top-up to a reasonable diet than as a substitute for one.
Who should check with a doctor first
- Anyone with kidney disease, since impaired kidneys cannot clear excess magnesium.
- Anyone taking antibiotics, bisphosphonates, diuretics or heart medication.
- Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
If you are deciding between forms, our guide to magnesium glycinate, citrate and oxide explains why the form changes everything, and how to read elemental magnesium on a label.
